Copying by Writing is Copyright making FOSS illegal !!

A new teacher was taking her first class. She was skimming through the points of Software Engineering. When discussing about software cost she told that Software is costly. One student suggested and told that, what about Free Software. She corrected him by telling that the software we use are Pirated and distributed in “Copywrited” discs and illegal , so we do not have to pay for these, and thus it is Free. Students got confused. Another guy asked , if the software is in a “Copyrighted” disc then why it is illegal. Then she tried to describe that what is original software and a licence is provided with it. After some more confusion a student ultimately asked — “What is Copyright” . The answer from the teacher was something like this when translated: “After a legal original software copy is bought, we copy it and write it in a CD , and so we call that a “Copywrited” software which is distributed for “Free” .”

We will make a “virus” which will block orkut, facebook, google, gmail, twitter and some others in Microsoft Windows systems. This is a very easy to code and effective one, and very good to play prank with friends. But before anything you do, please note that I will NOT be liable for any kind of damage done to any computer system or any other physical or intellectual property. You and only you are liable for everything. Sorry for the message, but i personally do not think such things will happen. To make sure such things do not happen, do not apply this to any man who does important works with the sites which are blocked and whoever you apply this upon, remember to unblock the sites shortly. Enable Select-to-Copy MiddleClick-to-Paste in Windows Firefox

Those who have used GNU+Linux know the very useful select-to-copy and middle-click-to-paste feature, which has grown to a habit. This feature is very much used when browsing. We just select a string and middle-click paste it into the search-bar, or somewhere else. Microsoft Windows do not support this feature. Also small files are very useful in uploading a large file for sharing or backup in online storage services. Playlist Compression Joke

One fine day I got a phone call from my friend. He told me a good method to save memory space of his mp3 player which he worked out. The process was something like this: Create a playlist with all songs, remove all songs, and keep only the playlist which consume minute memory.
And oh, the next day he had to come to my place to get the songs back (the last step of the process I guess).

Geeky Code Wallpaper with GIMP

gimp_logoI just made a code wallpaper in GIMP ! Although i am not an expert in GIMP i am trying to write up how i made it. This is a guide on how to make a geeky code wallpaper showing a screenful of code with your name highlighted. The screenfull of text in this guide is the ASCII characters of a statically linked ELF binary file, who’s bottom section has a screenfull of text. You could modify with your favorite code or even other texts, like your name peeking out of a randomly generated screenfull of string. Continue reading, and check out the guide.
